                                                          Week 10 (Save $10 )

I been seeing more and more feeds online regarding this 40 bags in 40 days challenge.  What is that all about? Apparently this challenge occurs 40 before Lent. By the time I post this blog, it might be a 30 bags in 30 days challenge...which is fine, you can do the challenge anytime of the year...btw, Do we really have that much "stuff" to fill 30-40 bags?

This movement is about getting rid of all accumulated "stuff" we have collected over the years.  To be able to clear closets, cabinets, counters, etc. does not only enable us to keep our house orderly but also to declutter our mind.

Yes! 10 minutes of decluttering each day makes a huge impact! The challenge can be overwhelming but if you have a written plan of attacking different area, it can make the task smoother and keep you motivated. Keep a daily log, start with "baby steps" to attack the challenge, such as decluttering the front of your fridge, bathroom counter, bathroom cabinet, etc. Slowly work your way to larger tasks such as closets, kitchen cabinets, the car, etc.

What to do with all that stuff? Bag or box your unwanted items and donate it to charity or pass it along to someone who may want or need the item.

What lessons I am learning from this challenge is discipline. To be of able to declutter on a daily basis, whether it be for 10 minutes or 20 minutes. I cannot believe how many "things"  are brought into one household over time. The best way to avoid bringing in more stuff into my life is to avoid hitting any stores ...and buying what I need vs. what I want.

Are you up for the challenge of decluttering ?
