The Canada Food Guide recommends 7 to 10 servings of fruit and vegetable each day to reduce the risk of chronic diseases but the ironic fact is that ALL fruits and vegetables contain pesticides even "organic" grown.

Studies show that exposure to pesticides can lead to cancer, diabetes, asthma, birth defects,  ALS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's  and chronic diseases.

It sounds like a NO win situation!

What if there is a way to remove the pesticides from fruits and vegetables with an eco-friendly product straight from your cupboard ?  What is this product?...
BAKING SODA !!

New research has found that soaking your fruits and vegetables with just a few Tablespoons of this alkaline salt (aka sodium bicarbonate)  for two minutes in water can actually remove 96% of the pesticides.

Sprinkle melons with baking soda and scrub all the nooks and crannies. Don't forget to give it a final rinse or two.

Berries should best be bathe in the baking soda/ water solution, rinsed and dried, just before you eat them.

Leafy vegetables can be soaked in the salad spinner with the baking soda/ water solution. Rinsed and spin dry.
