Ugly Christmas Sweaters
Week 46 to 48 ( Save $46, $47, $48 )
Keep on saving
Tis the season to be wearing an Ugly Christmas Sweater. The Ugly Christmas sweater has become such a huge craze! You have to own one or two or three. They are perfect for any holiday gathering, ugly sweater parties, or you just want to wear one because you love Christmas.
Whether you make your own or pick one up on the internet, share the Christmas spirit ugliness and rock it! Ugly Christmas sweaters can be quite pricy, if you start looking now at your local thrift stores, pop up shops, mother's closet, you will be ready to WOW them next December. You can never be too early for Christmas, Christmas always come!
The problem with Ugly Christmas sweaters is you do not want to be seen year after year wearing the same sweater. You know the story, "my uncle always wear that same Ugly sweater every year..hahaha." Here is my solution for those fashionista's ... why not trade your Ugly sweater's with your friends. That way, they wear your sweater and you get to wear theirs. How cool is that?
Keep in mind, make sure you give it back freshly laundered.
Christmas sweaters can be so much fun...start a new tradition and rock those Ugly Sweater's !

Oh Frosty..
Week 42 to 45 ( Save $42, $43, $44, $45)
keep on saving..
Here is a super quick and easy gift to make with the kids... Snowman lollypops!
All you need are:
white Lindor chocolates
In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and orange individually.
Unwrap the chocolates and using the lolly sticks, gently twist the stick into the Lindor nipple bottom (the chocolate also has a dab of chocolate on the top..take a better look). Twist the stick until inserted. Try not to crack the chocolate.
With a wooden skewer, dip the melted chocolate on the skewer and start dotting eyes and mouth for the snow man.
With the orange melt, using another skewer, gently draw the carrot nose ( I cut small orange sprinkles and glued the noses on with the chocolate melts )
Lay the finished snowman's down to dry and repeat until all the lollypop's are gone or eaten.
Optional: you can wrap the snowman's and twist tie.
TADA!! How easy was that!
ENJOY!

Life and lemons
Weeks 26 to 29 ( Save $26, $27, $28, $29)

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”
...sure thing but what if you do not have the perfect recipe?
First you need to make simple syrup to balance the lemons. Simple syrup is nothing more than cooled dissolved sugar in water. One cup of rolling boil water to one cup of white sugar.
Stir the sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Allow the simple syrup to cool and keep in the refrigerator until needed.
Now you are ready to make lemonade for one. Let the lemon sit at room temperature for more juice.
With a lemon squeezer, squeeze one lemon into a measuring cup. Add the same amount of simple syrup as lemon juice squeezed. Example: half cup lemon juice to half cup of simple syrup.
Add 1.5 cups of cold water to the lemon syrup mixture. Pour into a tall glass and ice. Nothing more refreshing than a cold glass of lemonade any day, any time or all the time!!
**Feel free to add more syrup or water depending on your palate.
ENJOY!!

Product Bar Codes
Week 22 to Week 25 ( Save $22, $23, $24, $25)
keep on saving...
Product Bar Codes are printed on every package and it's something we never really look at or think about. Whether it be on products we buy from our local grocery store, clothing store or from any big box stores. Every product must have a bar code on it somewhere... do look at it closer next time. As consumers, all we really know is this barcode gets scanned at our local retailer and the price and product pops up at the screen. Should we really care anymore about some little lines and numbers? YES WE SHOULD!!
The bar code's purpose is it's ORIGIN where the product was manufactured or produced. As consumers, do we really need to know where your product was originated? I CERTAINLY DO and SO SHOULD YOU !!
In 2008 there was a world wide product scare with tainted products originating from China: lead tainted toys, melamine-tainted milk products , baby formula's, pet foods, etc. How many people, children, dogs and cats had to be affected/die before the government did something to protect humanity? Do these product scares make you fearful about products and especially consumer products which we think are all safe to consume. Well sadly enough, THAT is not always the case.
What has the government done to educate consumers? The answer is Nothing. The whole world is concerned with products that are coming out of China but Do you actually know how to spot Chinese products or other products from U.S.A ,Canada, etc ?
China has been marked as country of "poisonous good" and some consumers are taking action by boycotting and no longer buying any "Made in China" products. Don't assume if you do not see an countries origin printed on the packaging that it is not from that country. The only way to know where the product is made is by reading the first 3 digits of the barcode. For example: All bar codes that start with 690 - 695 are from China.
Here are some barcodes to help you figure out where product was made:
BARCODES
Answers to bar codes above: 690: China, 055: ?? this product from Sri Lanka ,
324: France. 060: Canada
