Spring has sprung and I never even got to my “annual ritual”.   You know, the Spring cleaning ritual.  Maybe because cleaning for me is not one of my favourite activities.  With so many areas to tackle with so little time on my hands, here are a few cleaning eco-friendly tricks that can may make the task quick, easy and painless.

Bathroom Grout: In a spray bottle mix together 3 cups of hot water with 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/6 cup of lemon juice and  1/8 cup of vinegar.  Shake well and spray on the tile grout and let it sit for 3 minutes, then scrub.

Kitchen sink: Mix together 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 3 part cream of tartar and rub lightly with an sponge on your stainless steel sink.  Rinse with water.

Deodorize your sink afterward with baking soda and scrub with half a lemon.  Rinse with water.

Oven: Mix 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and ¼ cup dawn dishwashing soap.  Spread the pasty mixture inside of your dirty oven and let it sit overnight.  Take a scrubby sponge and with a little muscle, scrub the tough grease spots.  Repeat with the oven mixture until your oven is clean.  Rinse with water.

Stain Remover: Remove seriously set in stains by mixing 1 teaspoon of Dawn dishwashing soap, 3 to 4 Tbsp of hydrogen peroxide and 2 Tbsp of baking soda.  Scrub on with a toothbrush on the stain.(No need to buy oxyclean ever again)  You may want to let the paste sit a little longer before throwing the item into your wash.

Feel free to post any Eco- friendly cleaning tips
